The Texas General Land Office offers three primary funding opportunities. Applications are accepted under the programs listed below.  Click on a program to learn more.

COASTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (CMP)

The Texas Coastal Management Program (CMP), funded by NOAA, focuses on the state's coastal natural resource areas. The program is managed by the Texas Land Commissioner and funds projects that address environmental concerns and promote the use of sustainable economic development within the coastal zone. CMP grant applications are solicited annually.

COASTAL EROSION PLANNING RESPONSE ACT (CEPRA)

The CEPRA Program funds projects that address coastal erosion response to reduce the effects of and to understand the processes of coastal erosion as it continues to threaten public beaches, natural resources, coastal development, public infrastructure, and public and private property. If the Legislature appropriates funding, the CEPRA program provides funding on a biennial basis.

OIL SPILL

Working with the petroleum and commercial fishing industries, the U.S. Coast Guard and the general public, Oil Spill Prevention and Response staff support educational opportunities, daily water and shore patrols and firehouse-ready response teams to prevent and immediately address environmental problems – because even the smallest spill can endanger Texas’ precious natural resources.
